                                                   Biology

Biology is a profession that focuses on the study of all the different kinds of life: the origins, evolution, structure, behavior and the relations between the living beings, organisms and the environment.
When entering the university to start the studies, you can choose between a Bachelor and a Licentiate degree. While the licentiate trains people to act as teachers in middle and high school, the bachelor degree trains the professional to work with scientific research, consultancy and other activities.
Labor market: the labor market to those who graduate in Biological Sciences depends on the degree.
Licentiate: the job opportunities include lecturing in middle school or high school and reviewing of teaching material. The employability on this field is very high.
Bachelor: the job offers are mostly on corporations worried about the environmental impacts, such as pharmaceutical, petrochemical and food industries. The biologist can also act on zoos, natural reservations, pathology labs and research institutes. Secretariats, federal organs and city governments hire biologists through public tender, so they can accessorize and implant projects to environmental protection, between many other activities.
Salaries: the average salary of a recently formed biologist is R$2.250,00 and the salary of a biologist with experience is around R$9.990,00. A biologist with further studies, like a Master's degree can reach over R$14.000,00 per month.
The salary of a biology teacher is around R$1.100, with the possibility of reaching over R$6000,00 if teaching in an university.
Best colleges:
The top 5 colleges to study Biological Sciences in Brazil are:

-UFRJ
-UFRGS
The top 5 colleges in the world for Biological Sciences are:
-Harvard (US)
-Cambridge (ENG)

-Stanford (US)
Curiosities:
- The biologists have won 22 Nobel Prizes of Medicine in the last 30 editions.
- The cure to a lot of diseases, such as AIDS and cancer, are being discovered by biologists.
- The biologists have over 30 professional activities registered in the Ministry of Labor.
- The presidents and directors of the most lucrative Biotechnology Companies are biologists.
Famous Biologist:
Andrew Zachary Fire
Born in 1959 and still alive, Andrew is an American biologist, a teacher in Stanford University. Received the Nobel of Medicine of 2006 for the discovering the interference of the RNA, published in 1998.

Marine Biology

Is the branch of science responsible for the study of living things that have the marine environment as a habitat and the biotic and abiotic factors that make up the field of study.
Some time ago , the Marine Biology was one of the main fields of expertise followed by the students of Biological Sciences , but today, because of its enormous scope, Marine Biology has become an undergraduate degree in several Brazilian universities (in particular , the South and Southeast) . The professionals in this area is responsible for endorse companies to find environmentally viable resolutions in order to reduce impacts generated by economic activities. The labor market has been taking more and more expansion.
The average salary of a newly graduated biologist is on average R $ 2,250.00 .An experienced biologist at least 10 years of career, earn on average R $ 9,889.00 per month.Students of Biological Sciences achieve their first activity remunerated at least two years before graduation .

Anyone who wants to pursue a career in biology area can choose between two paths: bachelor's degree or degree . In BA , the professional will be able to act as a biologist in public and private companies of various branches , from zoos and nature reserves to the food industry. But whoever does degree is formed to teach in primary and secondary education.

Veterinary

Veterinary Medical provides clinical and surgical assistance to domestic and wild animals, as well as health care, feeding and breeding herds. Another of its functions, complementing its attention on animal health and public health, is to inspect the production of animal foods.
In this case, the veterinarian verifies compliance with hygiene standards in the industries in order to prevent the transmission of diseases to humans. In the food industry, it controls the production technologies. In any industry that uses raw materials of animal origin, the presence of the veterinarian is essential to achieving control of that raw material. Can act also in sales of food, medicines, vaccines and other items for animals.

Job market
It is the growth of the pet segment that opens more possibilities. In cities large and medium- sized, increase specialized stores in products for pets. The number of clinics often rise dramatically. Another heated area is the agribusiness, in which the professional will act to improve the health status of flocks. In the animal products industry lacks professionals to adapt production conditions to export standards. There are still good chances in the pharmaceutical industry and veterinary products. The opportunities are in all regions of the country.

The professional work for the animals live in good condition, taking care of weight, health and nutrition. Also it has the function to take care of  reproduction and genetic improvement of animals, besides working on increasing the productivity derived from animals such as milk and eggs.
Zootechnics X Veterinary
These careers cannot be compared. The veterinary works in animal health with clinical and surgical interventions, while the zootechnics is more focused on improving productivity and animal performance.
