 This graduate can compose, conduct and interpret scholarly and popular works, using acoustic or electronic instruments. 


Some schools require some experience in the music field for those wishing to join the course. The selection process includes test general knowledge about the area and an aptitude test, in which they are evaluated by the technique and skill in music. The curriculum has courses such as history of music and art and musical perception. The BA offers several qualifications, as popular or classical singing, composition, conducting, MPB and instrument - strings, orchestra, percussion or specific instruments such as flute, guitar, piano, trumpet and guitar. 


What graduates students in music can do?

¨*Singing
       - Perform in operas or recitals and recordings.
¨*Composition and arrangement
    - Create musical scores and note them in scores to be performed by musicians, orchestras or singers. Create movie soundtracks, animations, plays and CD-ROMs as well as jingles for commercials.
*Education

        - Teaching in music schools for children of pre-school (music education) and students of primary and secondary education. 
*Searching
        - Undertake studies and develop academic research, research and culture ransom in the music area.
*Regency
           -Directs orchestras, bands, instrumental groups and vocal.
*Play an instrument as a soloist and in orchestras, bands or instrumental groups from diverse backgrounds.

UFRGS - INSTITUTO DE ARTES

*The Bachelor of Music aims at the formation of the instrumentalist and singer. It also allows the formation of the composer and choir conductor.
*The degree in Arts Education is intended to train teachers for the elementary teaching and secondary education, related to music.

Work Market (BR)

For graduates in the course of music the best employment opportunities are present in public schools, and individuals, that because the Ministry of Education (MEC) has required that discipline for the elementary school. For this area the music teacher has average starting salary of R $ 797.00.
For the bachelor employment opportunities are in private initiatives for culture, such as Itaú Cultural, nightclubs, public institutions, culture secretaries and Funar. The student graduated in music, Bachelor of sport may also act in music production area, creating jingles, ringtones among others. The average starting salary is R $ 668.00 (for CD track) or R $ 740.00 (for jingle range).


Biography of Pedro Coppeti


Pedro Coppeti (Brazil - USA). 22 years. Lyric baritone. 


    He began studying music at age 8. Made vocal technique lessons with the baritone Carlos Rodriguez (Brazil - Netherlands) and the soprano Deborah Faustino (Brazil - USA). He studied BA in opera singing at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, under the guidance of Professor Caroline Abreu



.   He attended several masterclasses with singers internationally known. He studied theater and internalization of song in individual lessons with Miguel Briamonte and Samanta Carancante in Rio de Janeiro.


     He taught vocal technique and interpretation of the song in the Music Compass Academy of Music. He served as one of five singers soloists of the show Nativitaten Christmas Light Lawn in 2013/14, being the youngest soloist to be selected for the event. He served as one of the protagonists of the musical "Chimango," Artur Barbosa, accompanied by the Symphonic Orchestra of Porto Alegre - OSPA - the Theatro São Pedro in 2014.
¨
      He was invited to be soloist in the Christmas Cantatas, Christmas Light Lawn, and also at the end of the season of the Symphony Orchestra of lawn in 2014/15. He currently lives in New York, in the United States, studying at the American Musical and Dramatic University Academy (AMDA) - Broadway Conservatory - a crash course in musical theater.
