September 11th

The day 11 of September had completely changed its meaningd after the year  2001. In this year ocurred the biggest terrorist attack of the history. Members of the Al-Qaeda terrorista group kidnapped four planes full of passengers. Unfortunately, all passengers died because the terrorists used the planes as weapons trying to frighten the Americans. The attack was planned by the biggest leader of Al-Qaeda, killed in 2011 by the US military; Bin Laden.

           One of the planes fell on his way to Washington, because the passengers and the crew who were in the flight fought against the terrorists and succeeded downed the plane. The plane was probably heading to the White House, great American political symbol. 

The film "United 93" shows how the crew and the passengers fought against the terrorists.

Other plane crashed into the Pentagon,  the great American symbol of security, located in Arlington’s county, Virginia. In the accident, in addition to passengers and airplane’s crew, 125 people who were in the crash site died. The fall also broke a part of the Pentagon structure, which took a year to be reformed. 

The other two airplanes crashed against the Twin Towers of the business complex of World Trade Center, in New York City. The first plane hit the north tower around 8:45 A.M, and the second hit the South tower by 9:05 A.M. The South tower was the first to fall, after being on fire for about 55 minutes. The north tower stayed 102 on fire, and colapsed at 10:28. Altogether, there were 2606 deaths in New York City.

After the terrorist attack , the United States declared war on Arab terrorism , and began to attack territories in the Middle East region, such as in Afghanistan and Iran. Nowadays, a memorial was built to honor the victims , as well as a new World Trade Center.

As we know the attack of September 11 has left many brands and one of them is present in the art scene, we will list some movies that are related:

For us the best film is the ‘’Reign Over Me’’ because tells the story of a man who lost his family in the attacks of September 11 and this man seeks help with a dentist who also is in troubles.
