PUCRS EXAM
Exam Info
The PUC exam is divided in 90 questions + essay. The questions are related to math, Portuguese, history, geography, chemistry, physics, English, biology and history, 10 of each subject. The exam subscription can be done from November 3rd until November 25th. The tests will occur in December 5th and December 6th (Saturday and Sunday).

English Exam
In English Exams that our group analyzed, there were only articles. Each article has 5 questions related to.  Consequently every exam has 2 articles. The most questions are about interpreting the texts but the grammar questions are significant too. The vocabulary questions appear less. The questions exams don’t follow any pattern because the type of questions varies a lot. For example, in the 2013 exam we had 6 questions about comprehension, 1 about grammar and 3 about vocabulary. Although, in 2014 we had 8 about comprehension and 2 about grammar and in 2015 we had 4 about comprehension, 4 grammar and 4 about vocabulary. In general 1 article talks about science and the other about curiosities.  One tip we can give is to read the questions before reading the whole text.
In most of the cases the vocabulary questions are about changing one word for other that has the same meaning. To do these questions the persons has to have a bit of knowledge about vocabulary. If the person doesn’t have this knowledge the questions can be difficult.
The grammar questions, in most cases, are related to substitutions and definitions of words and to knowing what each word introduces the idea of. For example: “According to the text, the expression “therefore” (line 27) introduces a/an…”  . All the grammar questions are related to the articles. To do the grammar questions successfully you need to know the topics learned on high school.

QUESTIONS
The text is from the test of PUCRS/2012.

The symbols, the memory and the history of the
Olympic Games are an important legacy, since the
material things created strengthen the image of the
event in the local population’s memory, along with the
memory of viewers everywhere who have watched the
competitions. They also represent a source of income
as they are goods sold during the event.
One of the most effective ways to ensure that the host city will get the legacy of the Olympic Games is to
have the population participate in planning the work
to be done. It is the very community who knows what
a neighborhood needs, in terms of facilities, and how
these can be of use after the event. The best legacy is
the one that is incorporated into the life of and brings
benefits to the community. The organization process
shared with the community may give the legacy a
meaningful dimension. Learning how to discuss the
needs of the community, democratically facing the
differences in interests, and gathering partnerships for
the viability of projects are unique experiences which
can alter the relationship of the population with their
politicians in a dramatic way.
